I'm not really much of a Sonic fan. I have played quite a few of the games though. My first thought at seeing this trailer was "**** the Green Hill Zone again?" Glad somebody else was thinking that.
Sega should cut the crap and just release Sonic's Green Hill Adventures, Sonic's real return to form.

That reminds me of how back in 2007, when Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was re-released for XBLA, the reviewer said that it was the best Sonic game in years, sadly.

Extended gameplay video. It's got a sonic adventure whale in it... sort of.
The trailer looks very good although the action seems faster than it should be to be controllable. I liked Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush (I think the boost bar was a good idea for Sonic) and this gave me an impression of that kind of gameplay. I don't know what to think about the "view from behind" parts and that it alternates with 2d. That can be a bit disorienting and is putting the cool "looks" ahead of the gameplay, which certainly is cause for worry.

Even the recreated Green Hills still had a bit more "flashiness" than needed but I think it won't negatively affect the gameplay after you get used to it.

Mega Man X7 (as well as Sonic and the Black Knight) did something similar to this and it was disorienting in those games as well.
