What's the problem with that? Is it so hard to have to work for something that is 'free'?

Do you expect everything to be just handed to you?

If you want any kind of homebrew for the xbox you're going to have to learn to use IRC anyway. It's illegal to distribute that kind of thing openly as it needs to have been compiled using the xbox SDK. Which is illegal to own and use without a license. You could get your own copy of the SDK and set it up but if you're scared of using IRC you won't be able to configure it at all.

Use google, if you can't find anything using google then learn to use google properly. The tools are out there. You just need to look for yourself.

I didn't mean to start any conflict there. I really meant that I was willing to rent the necessary materials with everything preloaded because in terms of cost it would be much more expensive for me to spend the time becoming IRC savvy and hunting around for files than to pay someone a pretty small sum of money who has already completed that.

I don't expect everything to be handed to me, I'm willing to pay for the work that someone else has already done. All I want to do with my xbox is use it as an emulation station for old genny and snes games that my brother stole from our parents house a lot of years back.

I don't wanna be an asshole, i'm just saying you would be a better person in the end if you found out the information for yourself. It's a valuable skill to have. All I can do is open the door, you have to walk through it.

softmodding is softmodding. it's dishonest in any aspect, doing this actually makes you a bad person.

I definitely agree. I'm just viewing this as the least expensive way for me to softmod my xbox. I struck out on my own, learned to use IRC, which I never had before. I dutifully followed instructions for acquiring the necessary files through IRC and spent an entire night with no luck. Maybe there was some trick I didn't realize or could not find the answer too. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to go to hell so I asked vlame to help me softmod my xbox.
