Go for the ones made in China, they're really high quality and at a good price. That's why Nintendo moved the production to Japan. So avoid the ones made in Japan.
If you can find the ones that are made in Taiwan, they're the best ones. Look for the letter "T" in the serial number for the Taiwan.

? Is that a joke or are you serious? Saying something made in China or Taiwan is high quality seems kinda laughable. I would think the Japanese made ones would be the best
Thanks for the pic Opa Opa, just to verify what im looking for. It seems that a gamecube doesn't count twords the sale gamestop is having so i probably wont be buying one from them. I'll keep an eye out online and ebay though after i do a little more research i supose.
i thought the GBA player was a big square thing the GC sat on and that it required a boot disk. I dont really see any on ebay or anything, but i saw a few of these whatever they are. Is the big box thing what i should be looking for or is it this thing? I glanced over at sevin0seven's sale thread and it looks like he has the big box thing with his.. so im assuming thats what i should look for. I guess i should start searching for component cables too, i hear they are pretty pricey and hard to find

That is a cable to connect a GBA to a GameCube. Some Game Cube games need a GBA to be plugged in like Crystal Chronicles. Read about here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_G ... ance_cable And yes, look for the big box thing that you put on the bottom of your Cube. Hope that clarifies it for you!
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL
Back to your comment on generally using first party cables. For the GC component cable, there are only first party cables. There is an encoder chip in the cable, so nobody else was able to make a clone since they couldn't get the chip or a copy of it. Along with the fact they didn't sell well since not enough people had HD TVs is why the cable is so expensive.
If I recall correctly w/ the Game Boy player accessory on the Cube, since I have not used it in a LONG time, I didn't like that you don't get a full screen with the Game Boy Advanced games. You get an actual image of the original GBA hand held console that takes up most of your TV screen and the actual game screen is where it would be on the GBA? I didn't care for that too much, did it do that for original GB & GB Color games? I can't remember.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

it's not as drastic as you remember. Here's a (blurry) pic of Street Fighter II Turbo Revival running on the GameCube GB Player:
do you see that gray border around the edges of the screen? That's it. Certainly not taking up most of the screen as you remember, eh?
Yeah, I play GBA and GB on the cube all the time. There are plenty of settings to fiddle with regarding screen size, stretched images, filters, and borders. After a while, you honestly won't even realize that 3% of the screen isn't used.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I generally forget that there even is a border. It's so inconsequential.

The GBA to Gamecube cable also allows you to use the GBA as a controller for GB-GBC-GBA games in that GB Player.

Agree the border is minmal, GBA games fill the screen nicely. I actually like the GBA version of Wario Microgames better then the Gamecube release. All the great intermissions.
