I think it will be. The timing is too close. The way Sega and Nintendo are buddy buddy these, days, there's no way Sega doesn't have a Project Cafe development kit.Inazuma wrote:PS3 and Xbox 360 only, eh? -_- No sale from me. I hope it also comes to the next Nintendo console.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Actually, I rather don't like it when PS3 and 360 games are held back because the developers had to program with the Wii in mind.Inazuma wrote:PS3 and Xbox 360 only, eh? -_- No sale from me. I hope it also comes to the next Nintendo console.

Gameplay trailer looks great.
My only complaint: I'd like to see Tails and Knuckles playable (same complaint I've had for years), in the classic levels at least.
That's all I've got though. I'm excited, big time, and all I want to see now is a release date.

Does that happen often? I thought Wii versions were usually separate such as Force Unleashed and Sonic Unleashed. The Wii versions of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing and Guitar Hero Whatever that are downgraded ports of the PS3/360 versions don't seem to trash the originals. They do usually make the Wii graphics a bit turd and the text really difficult to read IMO. What are some times PS3 or 360 games have gotten held back?BoringSupreez wrote:Actually, I rather don't like it when PS3 and 360 games are held back because the developers had to program with the Wii in mind.Inazuma wrote:PS3 and Xbox 360 only, eh? -_- No sale from me. Re: Sonic 20 year anniversary
If you must play through some of the more "recent" main series, I would advise Sonic Heroes, skip to Sonic and the Secret Rings (I got a pretty good amount of enjoyment out of it), then skip to Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors released last year. The others (Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, and Sonic Unleashed) appear to be turds for the most part.soundslave wrote:Haha so true. I've been doing it lately just to play the ones I missed. I'm about to hit secret of the rings.... That Sonic Generations gameplay trailer looks good, and one of the videos stated that the fan complaint about momentum in Sonic 4 has been dealt with (I liked Sonic 4, but Sonic seemed slow to start and the physics just seemed off a bit). It is odd that it won't be released on Wii, but I highly doubt that they are going to develop a Wii2 version of the game that is going to release at least a year later.

As long as it doesn't have any cutscenes I will enjoy it more than most recent Sonic games.

I got the distinct impression while playing through Call of Duty World at War that it was designed for Wii. COD games have always been rather linear, but WAW could be ridiculous sometimes. COD4 was so much more ambitious in what it did, wider areas, bigger battles, much more graphical flair going on. COD4 looked a lot more like the real thing than WAW did. Plus, they had to reprogram COD4 and call it "reflex edition" when they put it on Wii, while WAW was able to have a strait port to Wii. This all makes me think it was designed with being able to make a Wii port in mind, while COD4 wasn't.equalsign wrote:Does that happen often? All of the Lego games also suffer on high end consoles from being designed with Wii in mind, but since I don't like that series anyway, I don't care too much.

This. And hopefully those two Sonic's are the ONLY playable characters, seriously. I don't even care about Knuckles or whatever anymore, just let it be Sonic and that's that!emwearz wrote:As long as it doesn't have any cutscenes I will enjoy it more than most recent Sonic games.

I think there will be cutscenes as they have already gone out of their way to promote the story. I don't think we have to worry about any friends though.Xeogred wrote:This. Re: Sonic 20 year anniversary
I see. I think you're saying that they designed smaller, more linear environments and battles with the Wii's limitations in mind. Makes sense. Games developed with the Wii in mind might lack bigger scope, which is perhaps the best thing this "next generation" of consoles has brought us IMO.BoringSupreez wrote: I got the distinct impression while playing through Call of Duty World at War that it was designed for Wii.
