Cool man! Having a room set up would definitely be a great influence to write. I hope that works out for you. I tried to get into writing scripts for a horror flick, in fact my friend and I attempted it a few times but we just couldn't really agree on things and it just kind faded after that. When I was a kid, me and my older brother used to sneak out to our neighbors and watch horror movies with their kids. Our parents wouldn't let us, so it was both exciting, forbidden fruit and it was scary!
And I remember the first horror movie I ever saw, it was a children's horror film about vampires in a theater! Man, I was way too young to watch it, even though it was a kid's movie. I was trembling, literary! But I couldn't stop watching.
After that I couldn't even think about vampires and just the covers in the video store made me shit my pants! But then, slowly, I started to get drawn to it... And now I can't live without horror film, books and games!
I really can't fit all my horror stuff in my apartment. But I plan on dedicating a whole room to horror films, games and books when I get a bigger place!
Also a great place to work on my short stories!
Yeah as far as myself, Friday the 13th is what got me hooked (no pun intended
) on horror. I was about 4 or 5 years old and my older brother was watching it in our basement with his girlfriend at the time in the dark so I snuck down and hid behind the chair and watched. Just something about it pulled me in, it could have been the fact I was going against authority since I was not allowed to watch it but regardless I was in love! I would say that is my favorite franchise in horror. I have a room in my apartment dedicated to horror, one of these days I'll try to get a picture up. I have a TON of collectables so not everything fits on my shelves so I feel your pain there dude. When I lived at home I had everything out because I lived in that very basement where I saw F13th for the first time.I have a large collection of movies, video games, and again, collectables. I can't wait until I either a bigger apartment or a house would rock, to display everything like I once I had!
