I also stopped using WinAmp long ago. Now I just use SongBird. On Linux I use Banshee. I'm still waiting for the SongBird fork Nightingale.

I still use it. I just stopped updating it a long time ago so I can't comment on it's current stability. Grab a good copy at oldversion.com I've gotten used to using the DEE2 DSP to enhance the sound. I know many other players support winamp plugins, but I don't like unnecessary change. My friend has a massive collection of Japanese music he's constantly trying to manage so he switched to Foobar a long time ago to help him with at, but a couple of months ago he called me up saying he found the best program he should have been using all along: MediaMonkey
I've been thinking of making the switch simply because he checked for me to see if the playlist is real instead of just being a display and It is. You can perform file functions and even delete songs from inside the playlist (the only thing I've always missed in Winamp). Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Winamp 2.95 has been and is still my favored mp3 player. However those that are burned on winamp i suggest 1by1 as an alternative.

I just miss when winamp had all the video crap on there. Like family guy episodes streaming from someones computer. Last time I installed winamp I didn't see that stuff anywhere.. is it still there?

I like MediaMonkey. The only reason I switched over to SongBird was because at the time SongBird had a Linux version.

I still love Winamp. Lots of easy plugins for videogame rip formats and all. I'm like a few others above though and don't really use newer versions, so I don't know what to say there.

Outdated, but I still love it and I really don't need junk like a library function or whatnot when that's the point of my folders to me.

I also still use Winamp. The only way to go. iTunes is for ridiculous people.
I have folders set up the way I want in Explorer. I do not want/need a program that does those 2 things (player and folders of mp3´s) in one
iTunes does this in a very sluggish slow and dumb manner. Still a big fan of Apple iTunes-aside.

I had hopes for Songbird, but then it became just as bloated as iTunes. Anyone know of anything that can properly sync with a iPod that isn't as bloated as iTunes?

You could try Floola. I don't have an ipod, but I've heard lots of good things about it and installed on some customers computers - they seemed to like it.

The only one I've used much is PoddoX to extract MP3s out of ipods. It worked great every time I tried it.

I heard good things about these others as well but haven't used either of them: Copytrans Manager and Sharepod.

I saw an ipod plugin for Winamp a while back, tho I think it needed you to use the winamp library to do the syncing.
