Game Port on PC Controller that looks like S-Video Port?

Post by ReddMcKnight »

Hi all. I recently purchased a PC Game Controller from someone on here. The connector on it to connect it to the computer is supposed to be a Game Port, but it looks EXACTLY like an S-Video port. Anyone know what it is, and where I can find a pinout for it?

The only PC controllers I have with those are ones that have a breakaway or other parts to them (steering wheel foot pedals, optional USB connector, etc). I'd wager you're SOL on a pinout. I've had to search for hours to find operating instructions or even drivers for some of my gameport controllers. I think I have the breakaway gameport-svideo connector piece you need (I may even have the same controller...) but It'll be tough to find since I haven't seen it in ages. I'll have a look in the bottom of some old boxes - If I can find it, it's yours.

All I found was ps/2 to db9 connector. I can't find that flight stick I was thinking of. I've been given a bunch of Interac V3 steering controllers for various systems so I have a surplus of parts for them. They have a s-video-like connector to connect the 2 parts, but they're 5 pin (s-video plus one pin on the bottom left). If I find the part I was thinking of I'll contact you but my guess is this is a lost cause.

If you're interested, I have a collection of PC game-port controllers, and a mayflash gameport-to-usb adapter I'm willing to sell of $1 each plus cost of shipping. They're guaranteed to work.

Just a thought, but x-box style pads have a breakaway link in the cable to stop you damaging the port or console, this looks a lot like a ps2 connector.
