That's pretty cool. And even cooler because I'm actually about the meet some friends at Kung-Fu in a little while.Redline9 wrote:And to complete my hat trick of Austin arcade updates:
Kung Fu Saloon has added a Super Contra arcade machine to their stable.

Haha, there's another Playboy pinball machine over at Rounders Pizzeria on West 6th Street. It's a pizza joint with a classic Las Vegas casino decor and they have a handful of arcade machines and cocktail cabinets there (Donkey Kong, Ms. Pacman, Pole Position, Galaga). The Playboy pinball machine was off in a corner by itself. It was actually set to free play the last time I was there. Good pizza there, too, FYI.phaedrus wrote: oh and Playboy pin for members. i feel so dirty playing that game.
I hope you give Red Falcon hell for us. You would think he learned his lesson the first time we blew that island to kingdom come.quintorro wrote:And even cooler because I'm actually about the meet some friends at Kung-Fu in a little while.

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Brainstorming ideas for a Streets of Rage meet. I have SOR2 and maybe 1 (I can't remember if I sold the 6 in 1 Genesis cart or not). I got XP and Streets of Rage Remake running on my macbook. Runs pretty nice full screen. Does anyone have a mini display to S-Video adapter that I could test on a CRT TV with? Or if anyone else out there has another solution to running SORR on a CRT, let me know.
3 Gennys connected and a PC. 8 people playing SOR variations. We could, of course, bring along other beat em' ups for flavor.

I might actually have a Genesis 6 in 1 cart. I'll need to check on that and make sure it works. So, you already have three Genesis systems?
Also, I'm curious, has anyone inquired what the cost would be to rent a room at Pinballz Arcade? Is it an hourly rate? Does the cost increase on weekends or nights? If you rent a room, does it come with extras like some tokens to get you started?

Yes, we could have a stool and a dunce cap and have one person play Double Dragon on a Gameboy in the corner. I'm kidding, of course. Don't flame me. I like Double Dragon.wip3outguy7 wrote:We could, of course, bring along other beat em' ups for flavor.

As far as a room at Pinz. I will get phaedrus in here. He and I worked out specifics about a month ago. As usual, the larger the group the better. But we determined it would have to be a pretty large group to offset the cost of the room.

You guys would totally choose the busiest time of my life to do an SOR meet up. Consequences will never be the same, sirs.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

is that dub-step I hear?
Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Just bring your homework with you. We'll do it as a group. The policy will be that not a single street punk can be body slammed until all homework is complete (double-spaced with 1" margins, of course). We'll call this part of the meet-up "Sheets of Rage."Flake wrote:You guys would totally choose the busiest time of my life to do an SOR meet up. Consequences will never be the same, sirs.
Thanks, Phaedrus. Duh, stupid me. I thought I searched the site. Here's the Party Package link.phaedrus wrote:from the pinz site.

The rule about only non-alcoholic drinks is interesting. I thought they served beer at Pinballz. Although, if you're in a party, you can't drink?
