Arent they trying to pass the 2011 budget that the liberals should of passed back in October? Funny how you liberals think and now they are giving scare tactics to the people and saying the Republicans are going to kill kids and senior citizens with the stuff they want to cut while the Dems are trying to sneak in government payed abortions in this bill. Dont know about you but I sure as hell dont want tax payers dollars going to someones last resort birth control option.Flake wrote:This is just grandstanding to try and score points with the voters as both sides gear up for the primary campaigns. Partisan BS made even worse with by the infusion of 'Tea Party' radicals voted into office by reactionaries and the insanely far-right.
Worse case scenario: That small, small core of moderately minded Republicans and Democrats will convince their dipshit colleagues to get back to work on a compromise within a week or so. The country can run on auto pilot for about that long before things get bad.
This is more about making someone take the blame for something than anything tangible.

Im sure this is what the Republicans want. They are trying to come to an agreement with the budget and the Dems dont want to. They want to keep feeding the leaches in America that are sucking up all the money and cut back on military spending. Why dont you liberals like defense?Hatta wrote:The crazy part is, shutting down the government is essentially giving the Republicans what they want. The police and military keep running, but all the social services and regulation stops.

Raise taxes? Theres a tax on everything. Check out the sugar tax that they want or the tax they want to put on fast food. How about we cut back on welfare. These people on welfare are abusing the system. Keep pushing out kids and the government will help you. Have a kid cap on welfare. Only give hand out for two kids but you can still have as many as you want but after 2 they are on your dime. Cut back on foreign aid to these countries not on military. We are the best cause of our military. Do you want war on your turff? No... then stop bitching about military spending defensedsheinem wrote:Actually, IIRC military payroll is usually a victim of govt shut down. Flake's right - it is all about being able to dole out blame in the upcoming primaries. The teabaggers and the dems are bickering over a difference of $30 billion in (mostly) entitlement and welfare programs. The giant 75%+ of the budget that is eaten up by medicare, social security, and defense is really not open for discussion in this debate, nor is raising taxes (which MUST be done). For all the BS about being fiscally responsible, neither side is close.

It'd help if you didn't sound like a caricature of every Fox News pundit. Stephen Colbert does a much better job of it.SuperAnthony64 wrote:Its just my opinion.
