Note: I'm not talking about new hardware, just stuff that could be added in software updates.
1. A way to message people on my friends list
2. A way to be notified that somebody added me to their friends list.
3. Be able to change the zoom whilst playing original DS titles. Holding the Home button for 5 seconds or something would be nice.
4. Spend play coins to upgrade adventurers instead of them all being level 1 or 2 and running away after one hit.
5. Battery percentage indicator, or a way of changing it from the practically useless battery icon that is there.

You can play DS games in their original resolution by holding start and select while you boot them up.Niode wrote: 3. Be able to change the zoom whilst playing original DS titles. Holding the Home button for 5 seconds or something would be nice.
I hate how hard it was for me to complete the Piece Gathering Journey game (Piece Atsume no Tabi). I had to use like 150 coins to complete it because I kept getting the same pieces over and over. Even with holding the R trigger to speed it up, it took far too long.

Re: What features do you hope for in future 3DS system updates
I would like to see some battery optimizations, for starters. Every little bit helps. I really wish they would hurry up with that Web Browser/eShop update. I can't wait to have Netflix on the 3DS, too. All that should come out during early summer, right? Also, I would like to see an actual SD Card-loading video player for the system. That really isn't Nintendo's thing, but you would be laughed out of town to have a high-end portable device without a video player these days! Get with the times, Big N! Better system support for the 3DS Virtual Console would be nice, too. Some Neo-Geo Pocket, Virtual Boy [You can always hope], Lynx, and maybe even Wonderswan games if all goes well. But, before all that, get some real games out the door, and soon. We don't want the 3DS to suffer Kinect syndrome.
Re: What features do you hope for in future 3DS system updates
I know that, I mean whilst I'm in a game. It's a pain having to turn a game off and then back on again because you forgot to hold Start & Select.Inazuma wrote:You can play DS games in their original resolution by holding start and select while you boot them up.Niode wrote: 3. Re: What features do you hope for in future 3DS system updates
They won't be able to fix the 1:1 DS compatibility mode. Its technical, and its miracle it even exists as is. They could fix the upconversion algorithm it uses to display DS title at the higher resolution though.
I hope they fix the sound program. I just played it with today while I was cleaning the apartment. I connected it to my receiver, and it was really muffled and quiet. I connected my DSi, and it sounded 10 times better. You would think the 3DS would output sound better or as good as the DSi, but not so.

When you have a DS game in, to be able to turn on the wireless.
You can turn it off, but not on.

Re: What features do you hope for in future 3DS system updates
Everything that's already been mentioned, plus;
Updated WiFi settings for DS games (the 3DS/DSi support WPA etc, but when I play my original DS games it still only supports WEP?!?)
Ability to remove/hide icons from the main page
Grouping icons together (a la iPhone) - this might happen with the VC update...maybe
Faster switching between suspended apps (ie, switch from game to notes app faster - at the moment it's quicker for me to just grab a pen and paper)
More coins! If I take a 5 minute walk to the shop and back, I've already got the maximum amount of coins for the day!

I AM ERROR.
Re: What features do you hope for in future 3DS system updates
That's a software issue not a hardware issue (by software I mean the DS software, not the firmware. As far as I can tell, Nintendo can't fix it). WPA2 support is software not hardware based. This is one of the reasons why Pokemon Black/White and other DSi mode games can use your WPA connection and older DS WFC games can't.riggs wrote:Everything that's already been mentioned, plus;

The thing with that, is that they'd have to develop an emulator (which should also turn the games into another color other than red, if they don't want people to start getting seizures), for like what? 10 games? Very small profit opportunitylisalover1 wrote: Virtual Boy [You can always hope],
