Re: The Best 2D Saturn games
Surprised that nobody mentioned Gex. Awesome platformer, expertly animated, and funny as hell! Also gotta love the arcade perfect Sega Ages collection with Space Harrier, After Burner 2, and OutRun. Also Capcom Generations 2 and 5, the Ghouls and Ghosts, and Street Fighter 2 collections. I've also put so much time into Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on Street Fighter Collection that it's not funny. The Saturn has so many awesome 2D games on it that it's not even funny.

I didn't mention Gex because I always think of it as a 3DO game, despite it being ported to the Saturn and PS1. The Sega Ages games are amazing. There are many more than just the three you mentioned, if you buy the Japanese versions.OmegaMaximum wrote:Surprised that nobody mentioned Gex. Re: The Best 2D Saturn games
Gex is still there and it's still good though, I actually think the Saturn version plays a little better then the 3DO version, but that's probably just me. Thanks for reminding me about the Japanese Sega Ages games, need to get copies of Fantasy Zone, and Power Drift.Breetai wrote:I didn't mention Gex because I always think of it as a 3DO game, despite it being ported to the Saturn and PS1. Probably as a result of the Saturn controller.OmegaMaximum wrote:Gex is still there and it's still good though, I actually think the Saturn version plays a little better then the 3DO version, but that's probably just me. Re: The Best 2D Saturn games
All this thread is doing is making me realize how few games I have for Saturn.
And only 2 of them are truly 2D, Donpachi and Street Fighter Zero/Alpha. Galactic Attack is weird. I guess it's 2.5D. Either way it's hella fun
