Do you remember Katamari Damacy being sold for cheap brand new upon release. I believe it was $20 or $29. Great series. I believe there was a compilation of sega games for ps2 that was also cheap.

I also remember when Blockbuster rental store: games were $3 something and then a few years later in the late 90's $4, 5, 6, 7 or two games for 12. I hated blockbuster because you had to return the new movies or games on time or late fees. I stop going to blockbuster by 2001 went Hollywood video all the way to the end : ( .

Nintendo wants to be like Apple. In way ps2 was kinda being like Apple, but its in the Linux bandwagon.

I don't care if it only costs $20 to produce and they sell it for $300. If millions of people are willing to buy it, it is not overpriced. Some people act like companies are immoral for actually trying to make money. All companies are out there trying to make as much money as legally possible. If they can make massive profits on something, of course they are gonna do it.

Talking about the 3DS in particular, charging $250 for a device that costs $100 to produce doesn't sound so horrible anyway. If you factor in development costs, shipping, retail's cut, it may actually be a very fair price. Glasses free 3D technology is still very new and maybe it was very expensive for Nintendo to incorporate into the 3DS.

Isn't the Wii still selling at $200? You know that machine probably doesn't cost anywhere near that much to make. But if people are still buying it at $200, then that's the correct price.

I'm sick of people who never consider development costs or supply and demand when determining the value of something. A game may only cost $1 to make the box and disc, but the game itself may have cost millions to develop.

If the 3DS truly was overpriced at $250 or $300, then it would not sell, and then Nintendo would be forced to lower the price to match its actual value. If you are upset at the price of something, the least you could do is place the blame on the right person. Blame people such as myself who actually bought the 3DS.

I sell PSP's and DS'es daily and have never seen a PSP last as long as a DS EVER. No matter what revision or how well taken care of it was. The 1000's in particular last a good bit longer but I've seen far more original DS's in much better shape than I do PSP's.

I also worked for the company years ago, but since I take care of my handhelds, it is in fantastic condition years later.

I'm guessing you have a 1000 though? Compared to the original DS it's about the same and the DSi is built more solidly in my opinion as it feels fantastic.

The later models sucked, the 2000 was bendy and flimsy and the 3000's screen warbles & spots up whenever you press a button, it's just cheap to hold and play with.

One of my brothers has a 3000. It's the flimsiest-feeling piece of trash ever. My friend's 2000 feels just as bad. The 1000 felt solid, but I heard about how easily it broke when dropped so I was always on edge playing with it.
