I played the 3DS!

Post by Jerkface Killah »

Yesterday took a walk to Grand Central Terminal (in NYC) to check out the 3DS pod they have set up. It was neat! I played Pilot wings, Lego Star Wars and the Steeeeeeeel Diverrrrrrr! The 3D effect was better than I thought it would be, but I did end up with a headache. I guess because I was moving from system to system. I cant wait to try the new Resident Evil game. The new one, not mercenaries. Who else has played it, import or otherwise? OH, by the way; the people working the pod were pretty annoying. I work retail and know how to treat people, they were assuming that every customer was an idiot.

i also played a demo 3DS console at my local Best buy. the demo game i was playing was Pilotwings Resort. to be honest, i like playing in 2D mode better than the 3D itself...the 3D mode dazed my eyes.

Ah, good to know I'm not the only one who had problems with the 3d. It made me feel like I was going cross-eyed. I guess I'll just keep the 3d on medium.

I played the AR games using the little cards a few weeks back. Whilst I wasn't dazzled by the 3D, I think I could get used to it and enjoy it. It was very different to what I expected - it sort of sank into the background more than popping out into the foreground. I kinda liked that more.

I dunno how it was for you guys with the static demo pods, but I found I had a few issues keeping the 3D effect focused when playing the AR games because of moving the system around a lot.

Oh, I also took a 3D photograph. They look pretty cool.

The first thing anyone wants to do when they try the 3DS is put the 3D on full. I think that's probably too strong for most people's eyes. I am most comfortable around medium to low, low being the best.

The 3D effect still looks very good at medium to low settings btw.

Welcome to the party, I played it only a month ago

Also, I thought street fighter was much better in mechanics and looks than pilotwings.

I think that when I play the 3DS, the 3D effect will not bother me, because I played the Virtual Boy and walked away unfazed, whereas everyone else complained of headaches and eyestrain. I think I have more eyeball endurance than average people.
