Post by billberth »

Hello , I 've purchased a R4i on http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/ for my old school fat ds. I have slowdown problem with some game like metal slug and Gta chinatown wars. Does anyone have similar issue?

Sorry but this is not a chat room where you might expect a response in 5 minutes. Give folks a few days to respond.

...or buy your games.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

let's assume/pretend he's using it for backups.

Some games, especially shootier ones, can have slowdown.

Also, I'd upgrade firmware to R4 wood. Google it.

+1 for R4 Wood...

Also, what's your memory card like? It shouldn't be an issue these days, but back when I had a SuperCard micro (?), my original memory card would cause lots of slowdown. Turns out it was a chinese knock-off (the memory card, that is). Get yourself a good quality microSD (Kingston, SanDisk etc.)
I AM ERROR.

Check your microSD card. It's might be a)fake, or b) too slow. Get yourself at least a class 4 card or higher. Class 2 will suffice for a lot of games, but not all.

You were right!, my flashcard was too slow i think, i've tried another one (1gb) instead of the original 8gb i have purchased. Now it work like a charm.

Thank you for your reply.

By the way i have a flashcard for my backup game. Believe it or not, It's more conveniant to bring one card instead of 15 games boxes.
