I"d be happy with some Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, etc.. I have 4 wave birds (hopefully) in a box somewhere I could dig up for the meet.

I'm an SNES collector, so I could bring a bunch of classics as well.. if we dont have a mame machine to use.

Apollo got his Super Everdrive. He can load many SNES ROMs on that baby.
What a maneuver!

ApolloBoy wrote:Hey guys, sorry I haven't checked in recently. Anyway, my place should still be good. I live in south San Jose around the Cambrian area, about 15 minutes away from arnold_the_bartender, and I can host on Saturdays.

My room is small but I think I can cram everyone in. If we need to, we can do stuff in the family room where there's more space and I can grill some burgers right outside. There's also consoles set up in the family room, which include an NES, SNES, N64, PS2, 360, Wii, 5200, and a Saturn. As for the setup in my room, my sig should give you a good idea of what I've got. I also have flash carts for the NES (PowerPak), SNES (Super Everdrive), and VIC-20 (Mega-Cart) so there's loads of games to play beyond what I physically have. I've also got a SCART to component converter in my room, so we can play SNES, Genesis, Saturn, PS1 and PS2 games in RGB goodness.
You can count me in too.

You're parents are OK about using the family room? (your room is definitely going to be tight for more than 3 people, and there's a LOT more than that on the list ;))

Plus there's a rear projection SDTV in the family room right? (or is it HD?) Does that have S-video or component? (I could bring a Nintendo S-video cable and a GC component cable if anyone's interested -or a Wii component cable for that matter, and component for Xbox, PS2/PS3, 360, plus Dreamcast S-video)
I also have a component to VGA transcoder if anyone wants to use a VGA monitor.

Do you think it would be a good idea to bring over the 400 and asteroids for some 4 player action?

Yeah, but that still bars a lot of games using enhancement chips on the SNES/SFC, so any of those games would be good to bring. (SFC games are fine, of course, with his clipped tap modded console ;))

Oh, and for the others on the board, I'm Chris from the previous meet-ups (Sega-16 and Atariage user, tall, long-ish brown hair, glasses, talks about tech stuff a lot, etc).

I'm on board for any 8-bit 4-player action. :) Maybe the small room can be for 8-bit consoles/computers?

Yeah, I think it's the only game for the system that actually uses 4 joystick at once. (a couple others with intermittent play like M.U.L.E. -sort of pointless to even have 4 ports for those though)

It's a good thing I ended up buying Ben's 400 and got Asteroids before he sold it to someone else. ;)

The bedroom might also be OK for some other consoles, especially older ones that are mostly 2 player anyway. (granted there's the 4-player NES games and castle crashers -or warlords on the 2600- with 4p as well)

I've got plenty of other stuff I could bring too (especially Nintendo stuff) from controllers to the AV cables mentioned to games, etc. (if someone brings a Dreamcast, I recently picked up Slave Zero, and that's 4 player -again I also have an S-video cable for the DC)

I can bring my DC VGA box. It has VGA of course and a built-in S-Video port, RCA jacks and a 3.5mm jack for audio out (though we can use the RCA jacks for audio out as well).
What a maneuver!
