Best Way to Clean Cartridges?

Post by Lodestar »

I was wondering what you all do to clean your old, dirty cartridges. Normally, I use a cotton swap and isopropyl alcohol for the plastic parts and contacts, but I want to know what the best method is for cleaning dirty labels without damaging them. I made the mistake of trying to clean a label with alcohol and it took off the ink partially, so that wasn't a good idea.

Any ideas?

Goo gone on a cotton swab works for getting off crayon and stuff like that. I don't believe it causes any damage to labels

Ah, crayon...I was wondering what could get that off. There's some of my console for whatever reason.

I see a lot of crayon when I deal with games from thrift stores.

Be very careful with isopropyl around the labels - it will remove the adhesive (and ruin the printing).

Extrarice, what do you use to clean labels? Is Goo Gone safe for cleaning labels?
