So what's everyone's schedules for March. I am off Wed, Thurs and Sat currently. No chance for vacation days. I doubt we are going to have the chance to set up anything at Game Over on a Saturday, but we may get away with a mid-week meet up. Flake and I have also been tossing around the idea of a portable gaming meet up.

OK, so nothing really happened for February. The January meet up was so large that it didn't really matter.

Weekend of 24th-27th is no good for me. Have other friends that will be in town.

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
I will not be available the weekend of March 12th. Also, I probably would not be able to make a mid-week meet-up, especially if it is in the afternoon.
And now, a side note:
A while back, I mentioned "Die Hard" showing at the Alamo Drafthouse. Well, that has come and gone, but another movie in the same vein will be showing at the Drafthouse for one night only in March.
As Flake would say, "This is my childhood right here." I am referring to 1987's "Predator." They are showing it at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz (downtown) on a Sunday night, 10pm, March 20th. They are not simply playing a DVD or Blu-Ray either.......this is an original 35mm film print. In the show description, they make the bold claim that it is the only known 35mm print in the Western world.

I am huge fan of this movie. It's classic 80s action with a sci-fi twist. It's just pure entertainment. I've seen it a million times, but nothing beats watching a movie in a theater full of reverent fans. Previously, I've been to a showing of "The Terminator" (35mm print) and I really enjoyed the experience, so there's no way I'm missing "Predator." These 35mm print screenings are pretty legit with visible cracks and scratches in the 20 year old film. Cool stuff if you're into the retro lifestyle
.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in going with me, let me know.

One of the things I love the most about the Predator franchise was the casting. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a tough guy but he couldn't quite get the job done in the first movie. So who was the one hero that could bring it when Arnie didn't make it in the sequel? Danny Fucking Glover.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Well, yeah.....obviously.......he's a lethal weapon. Who else could they bring in? I mean, sure, he's getting too old for this shit, but surely he can hold down the fort until The Pianist's Adrien Brody and That 70s Show's Eric Forman come along.......whaaaa?Flake wrote: Danny Fucking Glover.

Arg, I really want to go but I have work until 8 on Sunday. It's also SXSW and you know how that goes... everyone's going to call in sick so it's going to be extra busy and I probably won't get out of work on time. The same party goers will no doubt call in sick on Monday meaning another busy day so staying out until midnight is out of the question for me... I'm just going to stop right there. I'm getting pissed just thinking about the situation. SLACKERS.

Let's hold off a little bit still. Redline won't be able to make it until much later than that and I want to see what this weather is going to do before I drive out that way.wip3outguy7 wrote:Flake wants to do Pinballz tonight at 7.

Looks like the weather is going to be clear tonight. So what's the plan? I'm kind of tired but with enough motivation I can crawl out of my cave for some social arcade scene.
add: going to play some PS3 so txt me if you guys decide to go.
