Why do I like Ouendan music more than EBA music?

I know I prefer it, but I'm not sure why (I also prefer the game, but I know why - the stories are that much more crazy than in EBA).
There is like 2 or 3 songs in Oeundan that I don't really like, whereas in EBA there's several I'm not particularly fond of.

I wonder if J-pop (?) is more "videogamey" (synth?) or more "80s" (it does have a lot of electrical guitar, right?) or something like that.

Theories?

What about other posters, what makes you like Ouendan music / J-pop?

I think it's simply because the music in EBA is not as good as the music in the Ouendan games.

Simple as that. There is plenty of awesome music in Ouendan. EBA still has some good stuff, but maybe it is because you are so sick of hearing it on the radio that you don't like it.

Because they unironically used Skater Boy in a videogame, years after the song stopped being relevant? Haven't played OTO, so I don't know if they use like the jpop equivalent or something.

I think all the songs in Ouendan are J Pop hits that had some years (maybe not as many older ones as in EBA, which had stuff by Queen etc.)...

I guess in general I prefer J Pop over the kind of stuff used in EBA (although I really like stuff from Queen, re-using that example) - I was trying to wonder if there was some subjacent reason for that (like growing up with video game music / music from the 80s with synths and electrical guitars).
