Famicom Disk System used prices?
Famicom Disk System used prices?
I was thinking about getting a FDS and modding it into my NES. What price would I be paying for a working used system?

From Japan, about $40-60 plus shipping (from Japan).

There is ONE on Ebay for a $70 BIN plus shipping from Hong Kong.
Expect to pay in the $100 range for a loose working console in good condition including shipping, at least, unless you can find one locally.
There, that wasn't too hard to search... was it? I even went the extra mile, just for you, and searched a Japanese site.

Well I did the same thing but could only find a few for sale. I'm not going to take a general price to pay from just a few sources as most stores price gouge. Looks like I'll wait and see if I can find one to bid on at eBay.
Just don't want to over-pay.

You'd save a lot of money buying one with a broken belt then fixing it yourself.

I just bought this one. It might be cheaper and easier just to buy the whole package. Most Famicoms I saw on Yahoo Japan come with the disk system.

I haven't tried to to do so but I've heard that unless it's an official belt that the timing or something will cause the games not to run/load/?? properly (and don't you need grease or something too?).hashiriya1 wrote:You'd save a lot of money buying one with a broken belt then fixing it yourself.

Do you know of an easy solution to fixing the belt without ordering a replacement?hashiriya1 wrote:You'd save a lot of money buying one with a broken belt then fixing it yourself.

I did find somewhere on youtube (I think) of a guy who fixes them with a special type of 'rubber band'. I am sure there are other solutions.
