Dreamcast yellowing question
My Dreamcast has yellowed a bit and I'm curious if you all think the logo's and emblem will survive the peroxide treatment.

What? You don't like the 15-year-old yellow PC look?

I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be a rhetorical questionRyaNtheSlayA wrote:No I don'tBoringSupreez wrote:What? You don't like the 15-year-old yellow PC look?
Re: Dreamcast yellowing question
Odd that the DC yellowed, I didn't think it had that fire retard plastic. Not positive, but it seems like the logo would be more fragile then the bare plastic. I think the peroxide actually chemically removes the outer layer of plastic in the "cleaning" process.

I've seen quite a few yellowed Dreamcasts. I'm thinking it's going to be as bad as the SNES.

hiya RyaN , i recommend removing the Dreamcast Logo with a small Flathead Screwdriver which i have done before and then do your Peroxide Treatment.
Also checkout retr0bright...........

im thinking of trying retr0bright out on my Dreamcasts and future White JPN Sega Saturns.
im still trying to figure things out though ie using a UV Bulb/Lamp instead of leaving the Shell in the outside sun.
I dont know much about UV Bulbs and Lamps what Wattage to get etc......

No matter what bulb you get it will take longer than leaving it out in the sun, but, it will work fine.s8n wrote:RyaNtheSlayA wrote:My Dreamcast has yellowed a bit and I'm curious if you all think the logo's and emblem will survive the peroxide treatment.

I've discovered the retro-bright treatment myself. It works well. I may paint this Dreamcast though instead.
