Reports of The Office's death have been greatly exaggerated

Tonight's episode was the best of the season. And one of the funniest in recent memory.

Dang, I'm a little behind but I'd have to agree, this season has been totally awesome. I didn't mind the last one or two, but they weren't as good as the old ones. This new season however, feels a lot like the old stuff again and is just plain fun!

Now my only question what are they going to do once Steve Carell is out? I love all the characters, but I just can't see the show carrying on with him. My friends and I guess maybe the it'll be the final season with them bringing in other big actors for temp bosses, then at the end of the season Michael returns... would be pretty fitting.

At least Parks and Recs has really picked up in my opinion, it was hard for me to get into originally since it just felt like it was trying so hard to be another Office, but now I think it's definitely got it's own character and all. Good stuff!

I remember reading somewhere that the show could lose anyone but Jim because if he were to leave, the whole place would just be a house of kooks with no one to make fun of them all.

I actually happen to agree with it. Jim's pranks are great. :)

And THAT is especially why I love this season, it seems like Jim and Dwight have gotten back to their daily pranks which never get old.

I agree about Parks and Rec. It's gone from being an office clone to being a more wacky unrealistic comedy. Some will say the same thing has happened to the office over 7 years, but if you watch the new Parks and Rec, you'll see that the office is still pretty grounded.

And Rob Lowe's been hilarious.

Americans who think they're more intellectual than everyone will defend the british one to the death and talk about how it's so much "smarter" characters and stuff.
I can't tell you how many times I've read statements similar to this one ^ I'm not an intellectual, but I do think the British version is incomparable. The extreme awkwardness of the British Office just flows.... unstrained?

The Jim and Pam characters are my least favorite things about the show. They're supposed to be the "normal" ones, and the ones the viewers are supposed to relate to and stuff. I can't relate to either of them, I don't like either of them, and I think they're boring.

I also can't stand Friends, though, so I'm sure I'm very much in the minority.

Also, I really like Parks and Recreation. As has been mentioned, the first season just wasn't very good, but the show has improved dramatically. Community is still by far the best show of the NBC Thursday night lineup, though, in my opinion.

Well there you go. . . I don't like any of the characters on community and don't find it very funny at all.

Do you dislike Jim and Pam since they've gotten together/married, or did you dislike them from the beginning?

I've never liked them as characters, but they've gotten worse over time as the show started to focus on them more. Or maybe they've stayed the same and the show focusing on them just made them seem more obnoxious.

The pranks were/are generally funny. I've actually liked the actors in other roles I've seen them in-- or, actually, I liked John Krasinski in Leatherheads. I think that's the only other time I've seen either of them. Oh, I also saw him in It's Complicated, but that movie was completely terrible and not worth seeing despite a pretty good cast. I just mean that I have nothing against the actors themselves.
