If I win the shirt, I'm going to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Burger King until I can fit in it.

Looks like the Katana Geist GD-R just sold for $735.00
Lets hope to see this game for the masses one day.

That's a crazy amount of money for a piece of plastic. I'm glad that I don't have that level of obsession. I could see doing a group buy and chipping in $10 to get it dumped but there's no way I would shell out more than $50 for it.CRTGAMER wrote:Looks like the Katana Geist GD-R just sold for $735.00

Add that to the fact that they can't actually get the disc to boot.

Older. Not wiser.

CRTGamer, or someone else, can you explain what the hype about Geist is? I read through the sale thread and I know it was shown at TGS in 1998 before the dreamcast game out, but I don't see why it is so significant. Anyone care to shed some light?

Well, IMO, if you read through that thread they pretty much concluded it was a lemon, and despite the sellers claims that he would help verify in any way possible, he all of a sudden became too busy when someone offered to come and boot it on a developers system.
In the Q&A thread he said this: this implies that he knows for sure that the burn failed. The producer was a good friend of mine. I played it.. and it sucked. You could "beat it" in like 3 minutes. I still have an old burn of it on a Katana disc somewhere in my house that I've been looking for and will sell. Even though it's labeled as a Geist TGS disc, the burn of it failed so I don't think there is a game on there but it's a cool piece of Sega history.
Re: Old Sega Veteran just joined Assembler
Nothing spectacular about this Starfox knockoff with a dare I say hint of rail shooter Panzer Dragoon? My excitement is more of just getting an new/old unreleased DC game that (ducking for cover) isn't yet another Shump. DonnyK mentions that the burn is a fail, but just maybe something can be extracted. There are a couple files that can be read so a chance the game is there. Keeping fingers crossed for a release!molotovwars wrote:CRTGamer, or someone else, can you explain what the hype about Geist is?
