Welcome to the NHK

Its kind of based on personal taste, mainly because I was felt identified, although I kind of find it mean spirited, but it does help open my eyes and rise above myself, it did help me get out of bed, and just get out of the house.

Don't bother reading the descriptions, it doesn't do justice, mainly because it made it sound slow and boring, but really...it isn't.

Legend of The Galactic Heroes

When I was young, it bored me. Now I can appreciate it more, but I must state it's not for everyone.

I used to like ut a kit and started to read the manga. I got burned, there's only so many bad things that the protagonist can get into before it looks forced and breaks the narrative.

Don't worry about Bleach; you only need to watch the first 3 seasons. Then you have pretty much watched the whole series for what it will always be. I stopped after season 5, because the new story arc just felt like a rehash of this first one. But don't get me wrong; those first three seasons are quite good.

Shakugan no Shana is what you should watch if you are still concerned about the time commitment for Bleach. It is much shorter (26 episodes), and is very similar in concept, but is in many ways superior to it. I loved watching it, and it was the anime that really got me into the genre.

I can see you are more of an action anime junkie, but if you ever want to watch a comedy, try out Ranma 1/2. It is regarded as a classic, and is a good transition anime from action to comedy.

Although it is not "new" (the original TV series is from the 80s) I have to name drop Saint Seiya.

If your looking for anything of the 80's ill throw out a couple I really like such as Crying Freeman (just got into it, OMG its awesome!), Gall Force, Project A-ko (fan favorite, shoot theres a con in texas that is named after the anime), Angel Cop, Goku: Midnight Eye (it has pink haired cybernetic, laser shooting, midget riding exotic dancers in it, or just one), Fist of the North Star, Dirty Pair and my personal fave, Bubblegum Crisis.

Thats just scraping the iceburg with a kitchen fork of how many more there are.
