If the enhancements for Gradius I & II count as one entry, and the two D-Pad Hero games count as on entry, why not combine the Rockman Endless series together? You'd have room on your list for more awesome stuff that way!
That's precisely what I did! There's 25 games if you count the big titlescreens.

The list of 25 is:

Huge Insect
Kart Fighter
Rockman No Constancy
Castlevania Remix
Final Fantasy III
Rockman 2 Endless/3/4/5 Endless
Adventure Island 4
Super Mario vs Airman
Famicom Wars
Donkey Kong
Ganbare Goemon 2
Moon Crystal
Aladdin
Gradius/Gradius 2
Megaman Ultra
EarthBound
Somari
Sweet Home
Super Mario 256W
Real bout Fatal Fury Special
Joy Mech Fight
MDbtroid
Battle Kid Demo
D+Pad Hero 1/2
Blade Buster

Blade Buster is really something huh? When I found out about it I couldn't believe there wasn't more of a buzz around it.

Yes, I've played the translated Contra, but I don't feel the story adds much to it. I love my Famicom copy for the extra little graphical effects, not its added story. Same deal with Akumajou Densetsu. Both it and Contra I would recommend just getting the Famiocom carts.

The Luigi Bros hack is pretty decent, but I'm happy with the choices I made for the list.

Could you email me the correct version of your hack that does work? I didn't include in the list because I had thought it didn't work.

Wait, does that mean you actually considered it already? I'd be pretty surprised if that was the case. I mentioned it more because I thought you might find it of interest, not because I would consider it a "killer app."

Either way, I'll send you a copy, pronto.

Multiple NES Aladdins! Which version do you think this is? Super Aladdin? Found this on Wikipedia for the entry on "Disney's Aladdin (video game)":
A NES game was released in Europe based on this version. It was also ported, unofficially, twice more to the NES under the names Super Aladdin and Aladdin 2; Super Aladdin is generally considered superior to the official port. The (original) NES version was in turn also made into a Game Boy version, which was compatible with the Super Game Boy and later ported to Game Boy Color.

Yeah there are at least four versions of Aladdin for the NES/Famicom.

Disney's Aladdin (PAL only)
Aladdin by Yoko (the SNES Capcom based version I featured)
Super Aladdin (based on the Sega Genesis/GB/GBC version where Aladdin has a sword)
Aladdin II (also based on Genesis Aladdin, but this game is TERRIBLE.)

I looked into all four versions, and I can again safely say the SNES port is by far the best. Super Aladdin is okay as is the PAL Aladdin but avoid Aladdin 2 at all costs.

There's also one that's just a pirate hack of Astyanax.

It is a short hack of Recca, which is a longer game. Of course Recca has plenty of buzz about it.

No no, Recca and Blade Buster are different. Recca was a commercial game by Nexet and Blade Buster is a complete homebrew game.

I just did a Google search for "Blade Buster" with "Recca" and perused several reviews and threads on Sh'mup forums, and did not immediately find any indication that Blade Buster is a hack of Recca. It does, however, borrow resources from commercial games--primarily the music.
