It's certainly not a common piece of equipment, and looks to be in good shape. Shipping will be bad, though. It's already over $100 combined.elmagicochrisg wrote: The controller is still an interesting item though.
I'm actually tempted to bid just for that...

Re: Sonic 10th anniversary crappy edition
Controller looks genuine. That console though. Fake as hell. It's simply a HKT-3030 Model 1 Dreamcast painted blue. By 2001 (IE the 10th Anniversary of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game) they were producing the '2' revision which removed mil-cd support (these began to be produced in 2000). So if that really was a prototype wouldn't it have '2|PAL|E' on the back sticker and not '1|PAL|E'? Nice try. But you just got... Lawyered.
Also to add insult to injury, that paint job is almost as bad as 'budsmoka's.

Thank you YoshiEgg25 for your welcoming words, and also for your intelligent and balanced opinion regarding the subject of the post.YoshiEgg25 wrote:D.D.D. wrote:It looks pretty fake... By the way, welcome to the forums masht!
The extent to which I've been told that this Dreamcast can't possibly exist, actually had me thinking I was given some kind of tester DIY job. However, after speaking to my ex-sega client i can now safely say I have a half-genuine item. It turns this chap was actually the guy who COMMISSIONED the creation of the european Sonic 10th Dreamcast, and mine was very much part of the batch that went off to the spray shop for the custom job. He doesn't recall exactly why mine didn't go all the way, but with the exception of the signed lid and stickers, it's exactly the same as all the others.
And Niode, do you think that tiny inconsistency you pointed out is enough for you to label me as some kind of fraudster?
Sorry Sherlock, but LE DC inception and creation wasn't a slick, organised corporate affair - it was orchestrated by product managers (my friend being the PM for Sonic), who basically sent someone off round the office to find a load of Dreamcasts and send them off for painting. Whether this guy picked 50/100/200 of the most recent models wasn't his concern, getting it all done quickly and getting down the pub was. Simple as that.
Peace.
Re: Sonic 10th anniversary crappy edition
They don't make systems like that, even prototypes for a pitch. They get blank system shells with nothing inside and paint them. They wouldn't of tried to paint an already finished system with the labels and everything in place.

In Japan and US maybe, but I can confidently say that in Europe they clearly didn't.KDub wrote:They don't make systems like that, even prototypes for a pitch. Oh man, that lamp is so stupid. Like anyone's gonna believe that that's a real Dreamcast lamp. It doesn't even put out light very well. It looks like a fire hazard.elmagicochrisg wrote:Nice, totally missed that...Niode wrote:Controller looks genuine. That console though. Fake as hell.
