That's a bummer, I thought consumer had the choice not to get one, since you could order it from Nintendo, or bid on ebay.

Yeah, this is a dumb move by whoever manages that particular Gamestop.

If you trade something in without an essential component, they just subtract the cost of that component from your trade-in credit. So shouldn't they just sell the Micro, less the price of a charger?

I actually have a micro buried in the hall closet. I'd use it for my GBA titles but I have no charger.

I dunno. That really seems to be the going price nowadays. Many store will still sell them for 30, but as the people pay 50 on eBay can probably attest they're getting harder and harder to find. I love my micro^^. I've got to recommend the Famicom edition. It's body is made out of a different material than other models that I like much more.

I got a Micro and charger for a decent price, but the "flaming" faceplate screen it came with was a bit warped, not to mention stupid looking. No problem, I thought, a solid color replacement faceplate should be easy to find.... boy was I wrong.

Nintendo stopped selling them, and Ebay and Amazon offered nothing at a reasonable price, just cheap vinyl knockoffs that I don't believe even have a screen cover. Not a big deal if i'm playing at home, but I bought the damn thing because it is so portable and discreet. The rare times I can bust a handheld out while working I need it to be relatively incognito, and a faceplate with a screen protector is a must while out in the wild.

I really can't justify spending much more than $5 for one, so until I find a bargain i'm stuck playing games on my crappy cell phone when i've got time to kill on the job.

I bought a Famicom-edition GB Micro for $60 from my local retro game store, and managed to sell it on Craigslist with 3 games for $90.
