What is a Sega Saturn spine card?
What is a Sega Saturn spine card?
I'm asking because I listed a Sega Saturn game on eBay, and a buyer emailed me asking if the spine card is included. I don't know what to tell him. Where'd the spine card go when the game originally retailed? Anyone have an explanatory picture of this? At first glance google doesn't help.

if you don't know what it is, then you probably don't have it.
It's this card thing that comes with japanese releases. It wraps around the spine. It's not just on saturn games, it's also on ps1 games, cds, etc.

They're kind of easy to lose and damage, and not having them devalues an item. I don't know, I don't mind having one less thing to keep up with.BananaXX wrote:Anyone other than me wish spine cards were released in all regions? They just look so damn awesome.

I have no use for spinecards, and yet keep every single one I ever had. To this day, I have no idea why.
On a side note, I once knew a guy who collected these things and was actively seeking out any videogame spinecards people were willing to send his way.

I always like Spine Cards, and I can see the purpose for them on music albums (translating what the album and band is into Japanese) but for video games and movies? I never really understood them.

Japanese like to triple wrap EVERYTHING. For CDs, that means the jewel case, spine card and plastic wrap. At McDonalds, it's the Big Mac box, paper bag and plastic bag that everything goes in. With cookies, it's the individual cookie bag, the cookie box, and then the cookie bag surrounding the box.Betamax001 wrote:I always like Spine Cards, and I can see the purpose for them on music albums (translating what the album and band is into Japanese) but for video games and movies? You might think I'm kidding, but I'm not.
Whoever told you that Japan was an environmentally friendly country has never ate sweets or cookies in Japan:

And here's a picture of a spine card. I chose Sexy Parodius because I like sexy things:
