I am using a normal HVLP spray gun for painting cars. It has a 1,3 mm nozzle. The spray gun is connected to a 380 l compressor.
Lovely work :D ..

Really interested to know how and what you use to buff/polish the clear coat?

Got some painted consoles that would look great if I knew how to buff them.

Small update,
I repainted the logo and sprayed the remaining two coats of clear. At first I wanted to paint the buttons in the same colour as the console, but then changed my mind :)

I still have to sand the clear coat with 2500 grit sand paper to get rid of some imperfections and then buff it.

Fantastic thread, I've enjoyed reading and seeing the whole process unfold. If I had a place where I could do a painting project like this, then I would definitely try my hand at something like this.

Here it is :D

And this is the stuff I used for buffing.

No rocket science here.. Started buffing with the coarsest polishing paste and moved slowly to the finest. At the end I waxed it.

More photos will follow when I finnish the controller.

Beautiful! That console would win a Best Paint Trophy at a Car Show!
