alarm songs: what's good to wake you up in the morning?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

alarm songs: what's good to wake you up in the morning?

Post by grittykitty »

so now that i finally have a cellphone that can use mp3s as ringtones, i'm thinking of the best songs to wake up to in the morning. since i usually prefer only parts of songs, let's go with the best part and not the whole song. it'd be nice to have a different one for each day of the week :)

i'm a light sleeper, so i imagine i would want something kind of cheerful to wake me up. two current candidates for that are:

wham - wake me up before you go-go (from 0:36 to about 1:00)
4 non-blondes - what's up (from 1:15 to 1:58)
QN from simi lab feat. maria - wake up (from 2:27 to 3:00)

what would yours be?

I just use a default ring tone.
It gets to whenever I hear it on someone elses phone for a phone call I cringe.

If you really want to torture your self just put Navi saying "HEY LISTEN" on a loop.

Christ. I'd probably wake up and choke my wife out if that woke me up.

I wake up to a classical music station that isn't properly tuned in, so it's a mix of strings and loud static. Gets my ass out of bed in a hurry.

And if you have the time to think about what "part of a song" you want to wake up to, you probably have time to sleep in.

So no sonar blips and dive alarm like the beginning of Dazzle Ships eh? I have the dive alarm as my ring tone. Another co-worker had an air raid siren so it sometimes sounded like WWII in our corner of the office.

Orbital - Halcyon perhaps?

Shingo Mama no Oha Rock? It would be appropriate.

nah, those blips are just freaky. the rest of the song might be good... for the afternoon :D
the orbital song... might have to try the intro but it seems more like a "wake up from an afternoon nap" type song for me personally, heh...
shingo mama no oha rock sounds like a good one! hell, the lyrics are perfect too (my first class tuesday and thursday mornings is japanese, so this would be great on those days!)
