This controller is awesome, and it has a much longer cord than the standard cube controller. Its "technically" a Japan only item, but thanks to Amazon its readily available in the states.

However, I will agree with all the posters here that the Wavebird is an excellent wireless controller, one of the best. But to me, the cons of any wireless controller outweighed this one, the battery thing, and the lack of rumble, however; most Wavebirds sell for more than this White GCN controller. For $15 I would buy that just to have it.

Can't see the image. Are you talking about the official white-coloured GameCube controller that has the super long cable?

I have that too but I don't know if mine is a fluke or not, but the A button on mine is really loud and goes CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK, something which my other GC controllers don't seem to do. It's super annoying.

It's bad enough I actually prefer my Wavebird to that white controller, even though I think the white controller is waaaaay sexier. (...and I like to play around with the cord with my toes while I play )

Yes that is what I mean to post. I have two, and I think they're awesome. But $15 for a Wavebird is a good price, so I think you made a good decision as well.

Wavebird is a very good controller, smart not to have rumble to prolong battery life. More importantly it uses STANDARD AA batteries giving a choice of rechargeable lithiums or a box of inexpensive akalines. A shame newer controllers (except Wii) went with proprietary not easily changed internal rechargeables.

You know that you can use AA batteries with the X360 controller and that the PS3 controller can work without a battery so long as it has a USB cable, right?
