I found a Wavebird controller for $15.00 today.. Only reason I didn't buy it is because earlier in the day I found and purchased a Madcatz wireless Gamecube controller for $8.99..

I've heard nothing but great things about the Wavebird and if presented with a choice, I would have definitely gone with the 'bird.. But since I saw just one at the store earlier in the day, I figured I'd never see another wireless GC controller again so I grabbed it..

Should I take the Madcatz back and grab the 'Bird, or will the Micro be enough..?

also, I did read the reviews at the attached link, but I value the RB community's opinion over anything else on the web..

Get the Wavebird. I bought mine for 30 euros and it was still worth it.

MadCatz joysticks suck. They will stop working. I bought a used Gamecube lot with 8 controllers a few years ago. Two were official ones. The rest were mostly MadCatz. The MadCatz were all defective in some way (e.g, a button didn't work, the stick didn't respond in one or more directions, etc). I threw all of the 3rd party sticks out. The only good 3rd party stick on the Gamecube was Hori.

Anyway, yes, the wavebird is the best wireless controller for the cube.

I've got 4 of them plugged into my 'Cube at all times, and it looks really nice. Also, the controllers are durable, have great battery life, and fantastic range.

I put off getting a Bird for a long time. Now I could never use any other GCN controller for analog games.

The last time I had to use a rumble controller was when I was playing Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, in the battle with Psycho Mantis. [If I remember correctly, you needed rumble for that battle.]
