so after getting some suggestions i went with the Japanese Hori screen protector for my DS lite since thats the one the little one uses to play Hamtaro (GREAT game for little kids) and cooking mama. They just arrived today from play-asia and now i realize i dont really know how to put them on =P The instructions are obviously in Japanese so theyre of no real help. I checked youtube and all i saw was some videos on seeing if you have a real or fake one. Does anyone know of a good how to video for this? Or have they put one on themselves?
I coule probably fiddle around and figure it out but i may mess up the screen or guard in the process

Re: hori screen protector for the DS lite?
There are 3 layers: the back cover, the middle actual protector, and front cover. You peel off the back cover and throw it out, put it now-bare protector on the DS screen, then peel off the front cover and you're set. Though I can't say which is the back as it's been years since I put'm on. If no one knows, put a pic up, there are several of us that read Japanese on the forums.
I would have a PC can airduster thingy to ensure you'll not get any dust underneath it.
And most important, these things are great quality - if you mess up, you can simply pull it off the screen and re-adhere it. Plus to clean them, just get a slightly moist tissue and wipe it. My wife and I have had them on our DSLs since we got'm and they're perfect.

Re: hori screen protector for the DS lite?
alright im finally ready to get these things on but im still not clear on how its done. I went ahead and took a bunch of pictures. Maybe someone could help verify that these are indeed genuine Hori protectors? I THINK its real but im not sure. The screen wipe is awful small looking. It seems to match the 'real' one here
other than the small screen wipe
anyway if anyone can read Japanese; the full instructions are at the very bottom. I also have pics all throughout, including one of a caution label that im not sure what it means. If not hopefully someone can clarify which of these pads goes where and how to throw them on. Tnx much

Re: hori screen protector for the DS lite?
(The instructions were helpful as I hadn't done this in years.)
The one with the red tab is for the top screen and white tab is for the bottom screen.
Keeping the color tab on top, peel of the back film, place the protector on to the appropriate screen, then peel off the color tab film. That's it~
EDIT - If you got them from Play-Asia, I have no doubt that they are genuine. They're good in my book.

ya these were from play asia. SO its ok that the cloth was so small? Thats the only thing that looks janky to me
Anyone know what the caution message says i took a picture of? Or what the instructions on the right with what looks like tape on the screen is asking you to do? Im also not super clear on the peel me sticker.. do i use that to life it up or is it just telling me that thats the top side?

I recall the cloth being small but it was fine to clean the screen - only used it once anyways.
The yellow sticker with Japanese + "peel me" on it just says: remove the protective film on this side also (this should be done after removing the opposite side one to adhere it to the DS screen). Because if you didn't remove it, your screen would likely be blurry and you'd have those giant red & white tabs sticking off the sides.

Re: hori screen protector for the DS lite?
2 reasons: first, i had heard they were only at target and wasn't aware amazon had them at the time.
2nd. I had 2 knock off sony memory sticks from amazon so im leery about getting genuine products from them on stuff like this. Im also not sure if Hori USA produces the same stuff as Hori JP.

Amazon is great. Your problem was buying from a 3rd party seller with a storefront on Amazon. You should have filed a complaint with Amazon if the 3rd party sold you a knockoff.kenshin-dono wrote: 2nd.
