Virtual Boy Collectors / fans?!
Any fellow Virtual Boy Collectors or enthusiasts on here? I know it's not the brightest star in Nintendo's sky, but it is certainly the most unique, and the one I actually get the most questions and comments on when people see it.
The Virtual Boy was the system that started my system collecting habit, so it holds a special place in my heart as the one "that started it all."' I got mine at a Toys 'R Us in Boise, Idaho on a family road trip. It was brand new in the box for $30. The Box was beat to hell and it was obvious the store was trying to get rid of it, I think this was around 1997 or 1998, so it was well past it's lifespan.
I still want to obtain the full collection of 14 US games, I'm sitting at, 6, and there's a few that have gone missing through the years through my several moves.

I like my Virtual Boy. It's not my top priority, but I do intend to expand my collection. Right now all I have is Vertical Force, Mario Clash, and Telero Boxer. At the very least I need to get Wario Land and Red Alarm...

I think Warioland was the best of the bunch. I used to own about 8 of the games years ago. Panic Bomber and Nester's Funky Bowling were also really addictive.flamepanther wrote:I like my Virtual Boy. I'll have to give Funky Bowling a try. My brother has Panic Bomber on VB, and it's a fun game, but I don't think the 3D does much for it, and I can play it in color (besides redBradtemple87 wrote:I think Warioland was the best of the bunch. I enjoy the VB and I really enjoy 3D Tetris for some reason. Mario Clash and Wario Land are also really fun. I like to leave my VB sitting out; it sometimes starts conversations.

I like that about it too. I would love to have mine sitting on the shelf next to my Sega CD 32X--if there was any room left on that shelf after putting said Sega CD 32X on itPharmaceuticalCowboy wrote: I like to leave my VB sitting out; it sometimes starts conversations.

I have one too.
its a statue next to my bed!
It works okay, but it doesnt have the rubber thing on the ouside to keep out the light.
its not very comfortable to use, go put it on a table and do your best
I have the tennis game, red alarm and warioland.
The tennis game is common, so I find them all the time.
I got lucky once when I found a virtual boy, just the console with no cables, but it had warioland inside of it! Got it for $5.00
so yeah, I'm a fan!

I've got four Virtual Boys. One is missing the lightguard. As far as I know, they all work great. It's definitely my guilty pleasure system. :>

Re: Virtual Boy Collectors / fans?!
I absolutely love Red Alarm; it has amazing graphics for a portable game, nice music, and good controls. Wario Land is also a blast, and I love how it uses visual depth to improve the gameplay. That's what a Virtual Boy game SHOULD be.
Re: Virtual Boy Collectors / fans?!
I like my virtual boy but have yet to picked up anything besides Mario Tennis. It is a portable ahead of it's time but it's awkward design restricted it being truly portable. I hope the 3ds has a Virtual Boy collection
