Re: Game Boy Player Land (my blog)
Nice post. I'm definitely going to see if I can find Tetris Plus when I go out today. Also, I'm REALLY glad I kept my copy of Tetris DS, not only is it my favorite version of Tetris, but its resale value is still around $50, which is abnormally good for a current-gen game.

I recently was given a PSP by someone who didn't want it, and the only thing I've bought for it is the $5 download of Tetris from EA. It has the basic game at its core with some decent gameplay variants and challenges. Totally worth 5 bucks.
I never realized this game had so many releases on the GB line. The original is such a classic.

Tetris plus was one of the two games I got with my first gameboy. The other was a James Bond game I think.

Re: Game Boy Player Land (my blog)
I did try Tetris on the original Gameboy back in the days and have played numerous remakes/spin-offs on numerous consoles/computers (my favorite is a C-64 version with split-screen)
but it wasn't until two weeks ago that I actually found Tetris DX for my GBC (actually my GBA) and even-though I've played it to death on emulators (PC/DS) there really isn't anything beating the feeling of playing an original
one game is all it takes for me to take the subway from my home to central Stockholm, it's just so perfect that words can hardly describe it
interesting article, since I knew there were spin-offs but I didn't know the original GB had that many
what would you classify Dr. Mario as?
I keep trying it out, but it doesn't feel... right
it seems to want to be Tetris, but ultimately fails
perhaps I'm just doing it wrong?

C-64 will never die

Dr. Mario rules. I would just classify it as another Falling Blocks game. But it's great. Try it again.

I prefer Dr.Mario to tetris personally. Puzzle League too. And Puyo Puyo. And quite a few other too. I love the block matching puzzle game genre, with the exception of tetris. dont ask why, because I don't know, Ijust don't find it to be fun enough to keep my interest.

I prefer Dr. Mario as well. Puyo Puyo is up there. I'm not a Puzzle League fan. But Puzzle Fighter actually beats all those games big time. Puzzle Fighter is my favorite.alienjesus wrote:I prefer Dr.Mario to tetris personally. Puzzle League too. And Puyo Puyo. And quite a few other too.
