Oh man, I LOVE THE GENESIS! I got mine for Christmas in 1993(?) and it came with Lion King. I played that until my thumbs were sore!

I just recently inherited a Genesis 3 from some friends that had one in the basement. I have a model 2 with the 32x but this Gen 3 was sitting there, had never been used. I felt bad for it so I brought it home with me. It came with an MK-1470 controller that has the 6 buttons and I was stoked, but the D pad is turning me off a bit. It is really squishy and does not deliver the feedback I would like. It is the only 6 pad controller I have so far for my Genny. I would not recommend this controller.

By the way, my 32x worked like a charm when I got it and still works great! I love shooting up some alien slime in Doom. Sorry some of you had bad experiences with the add on.

I've still got my Menacer for the whole two games it works with. At least the infrared technology was kind of cool back in the day. I remember being amazed that I could move the cross-hair on the screen. Terminator 2 arcade is kind of fun as well.

Say what you will about the 32X but I love Shadow Squadron.

I had picked up an unusual Genesis controller many years ago. It was basically a motion activated joystick. It was just the handle that you held like a flight stick with a trigger button on the front and a button on top. Wish I still had it. Saw something like it years later for the PC.

Why do I own one of these?
Because it looked cool?

Never liked the soldier pads though (SNES version); had to bend my wrists too much. Much preferred CAPCOM's PC version of the Genesis 6-button controller (still use it thanks to a USB converter) despite the fact it did not have a Start button.
My best friend had one of these. We were so hyped about it. We both thought that when you played Mortal Kombat the guy on the screen would do what you would do inside the Activator. That's what the commercial showed. Some kid kicking and punching and the guy on the screen doing it. What a piece of crap it turned out to be. Basially it's an infared sensor that you end up waving your hands around like jack wagon.

I saw this on mark down at KB Toys once upon a time and was duped into buying this piece of crap. Essentially a huge rumble pack which just jiggled, shook and kinda moaned when noises occurred in a game. Basically if even the game music was loud it would cause this thing to rumble, so it did not make for a very immersive experience.
I saw a magazine ad for one of these and as soon as I saw it thought it was stupid. Why would you want to feel the character's discomfort? If I wanted that I'd just go get arse kicked.
