NFL Discussion Topic

Post by XxBroBuzzxX »

Since we don't a "true" NFL Discussion topic, I thought I'd make one.

So, feel free to discuss all things NFL here.

By the way, PACK TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!

They're going to freeze to death. It's 30 degrees colder in Chicago than it has been out here in Seattle. But this is good; it means we're going to get Bears-Packers as the NFC Championship game.

Incorrect, it means seahawks/packers. And because the seahawks are a higher seed, they get another home game!

I do hope the Seahawks win though, not because they're a weaker team (in fact I think the Bears are the weaker team of the two) it's because I have a friend who's a Seahawks fan. So I can mock her about the game. _awesomeface_

In all seriousness, Pittsburgh vs Baltimore was a great game yesterday. Too bad Green Bay vs Atlanta was so one-sided. Looking forward to Seattle vs Chicago and New York Jets vs New England today.

BTW, they really need to rethink the seeding in the NFL. The Seahawks are division winners, and therefore deserve a spot in the postseason, but they were an average team in a bad divsion; there is no way they should be a 4 seed and have one or even two  home games in the playoffs with a sub .500 record.

Yeah, but they pretty much shot all this down about how they shouldn't be in the playoffs and such when they beat the Saints. Any given Sunday, you never know. (Or Saturday in that game's case)

Even if they had lost to the Saints, they should have been in--they won their division. But they should not be rewarded a home game for a 7-9 (now 8-9) record.

PS I also think the new overtime rules are stupid (if 1st score is a FG, other team gets a chance to win or tie instead of previous sudden-death rules).

I was really hoping to see the new OT rules go into effect in the Bal/Pitt game. Oh well, maybe today it will happen. That first game Saturday was GREAT. The NFL just never fails as an entertainment product. Always fun to watch this time of year.

I tend to agree about the seeding, but it begs the question: What will be the reward for division winners over wildcard teams? 98 times out of 100 the division winners will have better records than wildcard teams, but when situations like this arise - what do they do?
