I havent used mIRC in forever... prior to Underground Gamer and other such sites.

I prefer using the IRC client in Trillian so I don't have have an extra browser window with a load of clutter on it. With trillian I just have another nice minimal tab in the window with my other IM conversations going.

Being able to search the weather, Google, and Urban Dictionary? Being able to add quotes to the channel database, then call them whenever? Being able to see stats such as who's written the most lines?

Yes please.
I also want to mention that Rizon has an in-browser client called QChat. It's similar to that of the EverywhereChat client, but you can actually connect via clients such as mIRC and IceChat.
