Gameboy collecting...list of games?
Gameboy collecting...list of games?
Hey everyone! Have been browsing these forums for a few weeks now, gathering info etc for my Gameboy collecting. I'm fairly new to collecting, but I think I've gotten off to a good start (numerous systems (including GB Light) and around 50 games so far (half of which are boxed w/manual)).
What I'm looking for is a definitive list of Gameboy games (EURO) so I can start checking them off as I find them. I've tried a few different sites, wikis and even the official Nintendo page but I can't seem to find a list that deals with EURO releases. E.g. as I was checking off my games I noticed "Tasmanian Devil - Island Chase (DMG-ZT-UKV)" isn't mentioned on any of the lists I've found...
Anyone here know if such a list exists?
If anyone can point me in the right direction that'd be fantastic!

aw man if you needed a US list, I had yr back. Euro I don't have. Sorry. But do let us know if you find one (that is verified as complete).

Aha, noiseredux! Been reading your blog dude!
Always seems to be the case that us Europeans have a hard time with stuff like this. Had a quick look through my games and found 4 USA releases...everything else is either marked as "EUR" or "UKV" (one of which surprised me; got a mint/boxed copy of Jeep Jamboree - always assumed it was a UK release...turns out it's USA?! How bizarre!).
I did find another forum with a link to a EUR release txt file, but it had been removed (damn you Rapidshare!)
Will do some more extensive searching later on...do you think Nintendo might be able to help with something like this? I'll see if I can find an email addy and give them a shout. I mean, they've got a USA list so surely they'd have a EUR one?!

Re: Gameboy collecting...list of games?
actually when I set out to find an official US release list, I went to Nintendo first. But their list actually wasn't accurate. Their list actually mixed in backwards compatible GBC games, which I wanted to keep separate. It also (obviously) omitted unlicensed cartridges (Wisdom Tree FTW) but I also found that I owned a couple legit US games that were missing from their list. So unfortunately that didn't work out.
I'm really straining to think where you could look, but I'm really not sure. It took me several lists before I found a verified US one myself.

Nice! Thanks for that. Not sure how definitive it is, but I'll certainly have a look through and see if there's anything obvious that's missing.ZeroAX wrote:perhaps this place can help you:

Also, that site cleared up the confusion regarding my Tasmania game...it's full title is actually "Looney Tunes 2: Tazmanian Devil in Island Chase".

oh yeah -- you gotta watch out for weird title crap like that. You also need to watch out for the Tazmania games... because they're terrible.riggs wrote: Also, that site cleared up the confusion regarding my Tasmania game...it's full title is actually "Looney Tunes 2: Tazmanian Devil in Island Chase".
Anyway, how many games does that site say were released for the original GB in Europe? The US release list is 511 (or 506 if you don't count unlicensed). I'd guess that the Europe list should be relatively similar.

Re: Gameboy collecting...list of games?
Okay, so this has 462 titles listed, which is kind of close to the US' 506 -- I did a quick check and it looks pretty legit on licensed carts. This list does NOT have unlicensed ones it appears (I checked Karate Joe). But yeah, seems pretty good otherwise man.ZeroAX wrote:perhaps this place can help you:

Re: Gameboy collecting...list of games?
Have been through both the GB and GBC lists and converted them to PDFs. Looking good so far...
Not too fussed about unlicensed games at the moment. I'll get them eventually, but I'm not actively seeking them out (tons more licensed games to find first!).
Thanks for the help guys!

I'd offer to sell you a lot of games... but they're all US versions.riggs wrote:Have been through both the GB and GBC lists and converted them to PDFs. Looking good so far...
