PLAY IMPORT PS2 GAMES

Post by Integrity »

What is the best way to play imports on a slimline ps2?
http://www.modchipstore.com/Slim-Tool-S ... 16261.html

would anyone recommend this item, or, more importantly, this website?

EDIT: ALSO, Does anyone know if FFXII international has English text as well as the English voice acting?

I've heard go things about Memor32 and the Memento hack, but I don't have much experience with it since I never ordered it myself. Its essentially a memory card the replaces the functions of a mod chip. I don't know if anyone on the site has ordered one, but the reviews have been generally positive.

If you're going with swap magic, I highly suggest a flip top case rather than the slide tool. I have heard of people (not saying you would do this, but it's always possible) breaking off the tray door by not using the slide tool properly.

i use swap magic on a ps2 slim.

you can get it with the jammers (for the 3 sensors) but they suck, there are 2 sensors that you can knock out with some paper and tape, and i would recomend you take it apart and stuff the last sensor.

works great!

I use the swapmagic 3.6 discs (the ones you linked to) for DVDR, CDR, and imports on my slimline and it works great. Some models of the slimline require you to open the console up to place a piece of plastic/something onto the mobo but it is very simple and easy to do. It comes with this piece of plastic that you put in (near the disc area) that tells the console that the top is always closed so for the slimline you don't need to get a fliptop.

I'm using swap magic to play FFX International myself. The text and voiceovers are English.
The kit claims to not require having to open the console to work which is true, but the piece that wedges in the lid hinge kept coming out on mine. So I just opened the system, looked real close at the points that the three plastic scraps were depresseing, and hot-glued them down myself and closed it up.
Let my legs shake me to sleep, and don't wake me when I sweat on my sheets.
