So who is watching The Cape tonight?

So who is watching The Cape tonight?

Post by Gamerforlife »

Some guy tries to become the real life version of his son's favorite comic book hero. At least, that's what I think it's about. Summer Glau will be co-starring(from Sarah Connor Chronicles, Serenity, etc.), as well as Keith David(which some of you may recognize as Captain David Anderson in Mass Effect)

It's the latest attempt to do a tv show about a super hero. Here's hoping it fares better than Heroes or Birds of Prey

I'll be watching it. Despite my fear that it won't fare any better than Heroes or Birds of Prey. May they RIP :(

Well, it at least has a chance of finding an audience. Smallville has maintained steady ratings over the years and Heroes had good ratings until the show turned to crap. Now let's just hope The Cape has good writing. So far, I'm not sure how I feel about it

Okay, the second episode is pretty good so far. The first one just felt like a fast-paced, let's get his origin story out of the way episode. This show has some potential I think

Batman + Daredevil + The Punisher + Robocop = The Cape

I'm not quite sure what I think... Too many straight rip offs of comic books:
The Cape = Batman + The Punisher
Max = Ducard from Batman Begins + Stick from Daredevil
ARC = OCP (Omni Consumer Products) from Robocop
Orwell = Oracle from the Batman comics
And the list can go on, but my point is made.

I think I need to give this series a couple more episodes until I make my final judgement.

All fair points, I'm still undecided about the show too. I don't think it sucks, but it didn't knock me off my feet. It has an old school feel, in that it's not going for that smart, self aware feel that a lot of modern comic book stuff has. It's sort of like Smallville, but not as bad

Damn I totally forgot it was premiring tonight :( From the commercials it looked pretty interesting. If the show fails, at least they have Summer Glau. She's hot

I tend to watch anything she's involved in, just because she's such a sweet person

and yeah, she is kind of hot :D

I agree. It was a little fast. I think if it had gone any slower it might have felt like it was dragging. But I admit I would have liked to see a little more buildup between the interview at ARK and him getting pegged as Chess. THAT's the part that I would have liked to see get fleshed out a little more.

All very good points. But I will say I liked Max a hell of a lot more than I liked Ducard.

And I agree with the rest of you. The series defiantly has potential, but I'm going to have to give it a few more episodes to see if I'll commit. Though, since I'm really only watching one other show, I may commit either way
