SSBB
So far the online portion of SSBB is really nice. The random matches work quickly and smoothly and only at one point was it so busy I couldn't log on. But other than that, it's really cool.

Really? I didn't see that.
Last night when I got it, the connection worked right away.
This morning, I couldn't connect (it was the 86420 message - unknown problem - which usually means servers down or busy) but after half an hour, I was able to play and I just played about 20 matches over the last 45 minutes or so. I got my ass handed to me on several occasions but it was still fun. There were a couple times with slowdown (or lag I guess) but it didn't feel like the game was struggling just like slowdown from the 16-bit days.
Oh and the thing that shocked me the most was that people are already playing as Sonic (yet to see Snake yet...).
Any advice for a SSB newb? Like a good character? I'm using Link now...

Mario is usually a good character to start out with, he's a well-balanced fighter with no real glaring advantages or weaknesses; I did hear he's more ridiculous with combos than the previous games and he may be top tier material though (if you pay attention to tiering and competitive games). You're probably seeing a lot of Sonic players because most people were eager to try him out or he's easy to unlock (easier than Snake), besides I've heard that, again going back to a competitive look, that Sonic is another fighter that will likely be in the higher tiers.

I finally got Brawl working.
I had to install the jap update. I was hoping I could use Brick Blocker and not install that update and avoid the extra channels.
Oh well. Maybe that Wii backup disc will surface for download and I can use that to delete the excess channels created here.
By the way, I'm using D2Ckey for all those who care what brawl is working on.

So I take it you have a US system... I know when I installed the update on my JP system it didn't put any extra channels; what did it put on yours?
It gave me an extra forecast and extra news channel.
Nothing major.
