Help Me Find Super Mario All Stars Wii

Post by HellHammer »

Long story short:
I made a mistake. I didn't preorder because I figured it would be about as 'limited' as the 'limited edition' Metroid Prime Trilogy. So, I went away for the holidays, I come back and now I can't even find a copy in a store online. Damn it.

eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist prices are downright scary for a F-ing budget title that came out on the 12th of last month.

Now, I've checked every single Target, Walmart, ToysRus, or Gamestop-type of location I can think of (over a dozen) in my entire tri-county area, and then I called some that are even further away. I called some friends, I called some family. I even called Nintendo themselves for help...all with no success.

Got a gamestop near by? Do THEY have a copy? Wanna help a brotha out? PM me.

Who'da thought that Nintendo could continue to print money off of a SNES cartridge that's over a decade old. AMAZING!

If your Wii has the region free hack you could always import it.

Just wait until they rerelease it for the Wii 2. :) In all seriousness though, if your willing to be patient I'm sure the prices will fall dramatically once the demand has gone down. This shit happens all the time with video games.

Try K-mart. That's where I got mine. Just be sure to ask them if they have it and not just walk in and look for it. The guy at the check out told me on day one that they were keeping them behind the counter or in the back. Don't know if that applies to all stores or just that one, but it's worth a try. Wal-Mart didn't even carry it and I never saw any in Target or ToysRUs. The local Gamestop had them, but only a couple. They're probably gone by now. Other than that all I can say is... Pray to the gaming gods.

I'd import, but I want it mainly for the book and cd.

And I'd pay the absurd price now, but a Nintendo rep. explicitly told me that All Stars is not marked as out of print in their computers.

Hopefully the price comes down a bit. Or Nintendo prints and ships some for the rest of us. It's pretty damn frustrating to be unable to get a copy of a brand new release...

you know the EU version includes the book and CD. Here this place sells it cheap (with delivery charges to the US it should be about 30 US $) http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/ni ... rrency=EUR

Well you could certainly buy one online right now for around $75 if you wanted. The irony is the SNES cart has probably never been cheaper.

I just can't believe the shipment was so low that the ebay values won't plummet in 6 months. And surely people will trade some in to Gamestops after about as long. I imagine one variable is how 'mint' do you want your copy to be.

And, so.... would ya'll think that the chances of the SNES (cough *wii*) All Stars coming to Wii Virtual Console are about zilch, or is there a chance? I bought the original 4 NES SMBs already and love them [Lost Levels totally rocks!], but I .... might .... pay 800-1000 points to have the remixes sitting on SD in a channel.
