Ugh. The sound is off in this video too. Also, the person playing has apparently never played Sonic before. I know there is no spin dash in Sonic 1, but he should know you can't jump through the loop-de-loop.
:( urgh, oh well. Still, its form factor is just too cool.

I got fed up of being unable to find a decent review of these things so I just bought my own.

First off, it's fucking small. Even smaller than I was expecting. It really is around the size of a box of matches. The button layout seems weird but it works fine. The mini joystick however, is hard to use. For example, I was trying to do a spin dash in Sonic 2 and I had a really hard time pressing down. It would often press left or right as well.

The A/V cord is super short. Maybe like 3 feet long. I plugged it into the side A/V jack on my TV and I had to stand right in front of the fucking TV in order to play it. It looks like we are pretty much forced to use some kind of mini USB or A/V extension cable with this thing.

One very nice feature is the ability to skip to any stage you want in most of the games. I played some Metropolis Zone in Sonic 2. They aren't save states, btw. The game loads up like normal with title screen and everything. When you start the game, it starts you on that particular stage.

The games seem to run decently well, but sadly the sound is really off. I haven't played enough to know for sure if it runs at 100% full speed but it seemed good enough.

Overall, it's a pretty cool little gaming device. It's a shame they tried to make it as cheap as possible but I'm glad I bought it.

^^ pretty much agree with everything you have to say. The build quality is better than AtGames' Gen Mobile unit, I feel - at least they didn't use a cheap ass Genesis sticker this time. Neat little device, worthy of a collection.

This looks cheap and not worth the time or money. I'd just buy a Genesis for the same price :D

A real Genesis would probably be cheaper than that. Don't bother with the AtGames clones.

This is not supposed to replace a normal Mega Drive, lol. It's cool because it's fucking small as a box of matches.

If I have to visit my Grandma, this would be great because she has an old CRT with front A/V inputs I could plug it into.

I think that is really awesome! I have a retrogen to carry with me so I don't really need, but would make great Christmas/birthday presents for gaming buddies!
