Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES
I saw this game at a Play N Trade video game store by me and was tempted to buy it but it was $89.99! I have all 3 games on NES and I wasn't sure if this SNES pack was worth the buy as far as game play goes. I also have Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox and apparently this SNES version of all 3 games is an unlockable on it. My questions are: is it worth buying this game for that kind cash for enhanced graphics and is it really an unlockable on the Xbox game or is it the NES versions? Whew! Sorry for that if it sounds confusing. Thanks.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Here is a small piece of info about it from wikipedia.

I just surfed the web checking prices and boy is this game expensive! I guess just read what it offers, compare its strengths and weaknesses, and go from there. I also recommend that you try it out first to see if you like it. Or if you don't emulate games, you could ask the store employees if you can play it so you can make a decision.
Hope I've helped. I don't want to steer you wrong because this is a lot of cash for one game. I still can't get over Ninja Gaiden being $70+.

This is what emulators are for. Try before you buy! It's like game rentals for retro gamers.
In my opinion, it's not worth it. The graphics are nicer, but not really SNES quality, but the gameplay is the very same as far as I remember. I don't know which ones were unlockable on Ninja Gaiden X-Box.

It's not that great. The graphics are barely enhanced at all, and I don't agree with how the developers chose to map the action buttons. The improvements to the music are slightly more obvious, but it sounded just fine on the NES. The best upgrade might be that it uses the Japanese difficulty level in Ninja Gaiden III instead of the ridiculously harder U.S. version.

The collection on snes was decent ports but not as solid as the nes versions. Stick to the originals or play them on xbox. Also $90 is high unless its complete then jump on it.

Agreed. $90 is too much. Unless it's got a manual and a solid box, skip it.Bradtemple87 wrote:The collection on snes was decent ports but not as solid as the nes versions. Stick to the originals or play them on xbox. Also $90 is high unless its complete then jump on it.
Re: Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES
The original NES games are the best way to experience Ninja Gaiden. The SNES versions are plagued with floaty controls and just lack the precision of the NES originals. And when it comes to Ninja Gaiden, precise controls are a pretty important factor.

Re: Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES
i would say 90 is a decent deal for that game. by looking at completed auctions on ebay the game recently has sold from 60-90 dollars. a boxed copy sold for 200.
by the sounds of it, i wouldn't buy it for the gameplay. buy it if you want if for your collection.

if you took a shit, please put it back
