Saturn Wishlist

Post by daito_kid »

Well, the holiday season is over (Christmas any) and before the holiday came, a little gift was discovered for myself. If you guessed a Sega Saturn found in Tokyo for $5 (yes it works), then you guessed correctly :]. Anyway, I bought a few games, Ironically, they too were $5. I got Panzoor Dragoon, Nights into Dreams, and the Original Grandia. I looked at the list of hidden gems for the Saturn, and I'm going to start to try to get my hands on some of those, but I'm looking for recommendations I suppose.

I'm almost done with Nights, and well, the game is phenomenal to say the least. I really like the system and think it's competing with my AES for top spot, anyhoo, cheers, that's all for now.
My Console Collection: 3DS (JPNS), Dreamcast (US and JPNS), Genesis, N64 (US and JPNS), iPod Touch, NES, Xbox, Famicom, Colecovision, Super Famicom, Neo Geo AES, Sega Saturn, DS LL (JPNS), Neo Geo Pocket Color.

This is true. I was reading online about a game called Dungeons and Dragon's Collection. It's a side scrolling beat em up/hack and slash and apparently it's the bee knees.

Also, thanks for the recommendation of games. I'll have to look for them next time I'm in Tokyo =)

The very first two games I got for the Sega Saturn were Die Hard Arcade and Vampire Savior. I'd still recommend them.

If you love Beat 'Em Ups, get Guardian Heroes, Die Hard Arcade, Three Dirty Dwarves and - if you feel like spending the capital - Dungeons and Dragons.

For fighters, the Saturn has plenty of obvious choices from Sega, Capcom and SNK. For not so obvious choices, I'd go with Sunsoft's Galaxy Fight. Aside from more than half the roster having really lame character designs, I still found it really fun. Also, a Saturn collection isn't complete without Fighters Megamix.

For shmups, I personally really enjoyed Success's Cotton 2. Nice and colorful, interesting gameplay mechanics, and the Halloweenish feel was a tremendous breath of fresh air compared to all the dull and drab space operas that dominate the genre.
