I'm thinking about the same price range. It's time to pre-order my 3DS within next couple weeks. I hope they have red and black color system that was at E3 this year at launch. I definitely preferred that color scheme.

All these replies that are saying $250 are scaring me. I think I will get it at $200, but if it's more than that, I will wait on it. I still have a bunch of DS games to get through anyways.
Yup $250-$300 seems appropriate.. You have to remember it has Wifi, dual cameras one being 3D capture, Xbox to Wii level graphics, 3D graphics and is even a 3D portable movie player.. And you don't even have to use glasses.. This badboy might cost a lot to manufacture, so of course the launch price will probably be steep..

*sigh* It's not $300 in Japan; it's 25,000Y. It just happens to be that the dollar to yen rate is making look right now to be that much. The SNES, N64, GC, and Wii were all launched at 25,000Y. Statistically consoles are getting cheaper.
When I bought my launch Wii in Japan, it ended up $40 cheaper than the US price because it was the opposite way (and I did factor in purchasing Wii Sports as well). Did people complain then that the Wii was cheaper in Japan? Nope. I just don't get why everyone is going overboard about this.
The only reason US or EU can expect a possible higher price on the 3DS is because if Nintendo sells it cheaper, like $199, it means even less money for them back at the parent company because of the current currency rates.
But yeah, I need to reserve it too. I have yet to do it but it shouldn't be a problem.
I think I'm gonna place a pre-order down at the start of next year. I don't want to miss this, and as I live in a small city now instead of a small town, I imagine demand's going to be much higher.
I'm predicting a UK price of £200, but I could be optimistic. In Euros I reckon 220, but I honestly don't know. I hope it's not more than that, I have £150 put away for it so far from my birthday, but I can't afford too much more, and I want to get a couple of games with it.
I'm hope they announce the price and launch titles soon!
