I agree Quantum Theory was a really big letdown. I love the gears games so I was really excited for that release.
Final Fantasy 13 - I enjoyed the game but I just wanted more. The game looks gorgeous in 1080p but I hated how spoon fed it was.
PSN - Get it together guys and get up to speed on game demos. Nobody wants to purchase an exclusive game they have never heard of without a demo, let alone a preview!

The gameplay was just too simplistic. Three attack buttons? Come on! Ive heard that Marvel vs Capcom 3 may be getting dumbed down in the same manner. Not to say i didnt ENJOY tatsunoko vs capcom, but this stuck out as a 2010 disappointment to me. Funny, because even though the controls are simplified, that game can actually be a bitch and a half to beat.Bradtemple87 wrote:Tatsunoko WTFJonesy47 wrote:Mafia II

TvC is probably my favorite Capcom fighter of all time - the controls are hardly dumbed down when some of the combos can still be tough to pull off in a pinch. i always thought 6-button fighters, while they're good and all, have too many buttons and commands for beginners, and can be overwhelming when you need to decide on what to do in a split second. that's just me though.Jonesy47 wrote:The gameplay was just too simplistic. Enslaved-Could have been one of my all time faves, but never really fulfills its potential in the gameplay department. Plus, the story is flawed. The epilogue is lame and ripoffs a certain sci fi classic and Trip is a completely selfish, unstable character who I never came to like. None of Enslaved cast is really likeable, as they all do things over the course of the game that made me lose respect for them
Castlevania:Lords of Shadow-It's a good game, but it's a good game we've played a dozen times already. It brings absolutely NOTHING new or interesting to the action/adventure table. Just a copy and paste from other popular action adventures released over the past few years, especially games like God of War, Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, etc. which are being copied so many times it's getting sickening
Scott Pilgrim-It's a grindfest brawler that doesn't reward skill or strategy
Final Fantasy 13-Great combat system, every thing else was bleh
Japanese design in general. Games like Lords of Shadow and FF 13 are making me understand why some people believe that japanese games are becoming irrelevant
The growing number of games preventing players from copying their saves(looking at you Mass Effect 2, Sly Collection and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light)

Marvel 3 will have multiple play styles for controls, Seth Killian confirmed it a while agoJonesy47 wrote:The gameplay was just too simplistic. Three attack buttons? Come on! Bioshock 2 - A functional sequel to a massively overrated game
StarCraft 2 - RTS is stagnating thanks to Blizzard and EA
Sonic 4 - A 'sequel' that really wasn't
C&C4 Tiberium Twilight - Even Kane couldn't save this franchise
Mafia II - I was never a fan of the original, but this game was even worse
