If they put "Not For Resale" on all of the games we wouldn't have retro gaming.
Good thing Mario/Duck Hunt doesn't have "not for resale" printed on it! On the other hand, maybe it would be good if it did? Since so few people would want to break the law by selling a copy, it might be worth something.

I wonder what the black market value for it would be... Better yet- I wonder what the black market value of E.T. for the 2600 would be.

Why, you think it might skyrocket from someone willing to pay you to take it off their hands to free?

Thank god it doesn't say not for emulation on those old games. I'd be in soooooo much trouble

For US only in US/Canada/Mexico...

...everytime I gamed while overseas it was with a nervous glance over my shoulder.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I assume it would be the same for a copy of Sonic 2 or 3 with that label?

It would be fairly safe to say "Yes" to any major selling title that had "Not For Resale" or something similar printed on it.

If anything "not for resale" editions of a game should be worth less than one without the label. The ones that say "not for resale" were usually given away "for free" as system pack-ins or as demonstration copies, whereas regular versions presumably cost somebody $50 at some point. Also, it makes the cover look a lot uglier. It's lucky for people trying to sell them that there's typically no price difference.

Well for pack ins where there are a ton of them yes they should be worth less. When it's a store demo version that's rarer and actually should have been returned to the manufacturer or destroyed so there are even less of them, then an increased price makes sense.

The Metroid Zero Mission I have had marker very carefully placed over the 'not for sale' part on the label. I thought someone had marked out their name but when I cleaned it off I realized that the Gamestop probably marked it and put it in the pile for sale.

There are a TON of "not for resale" Zero Mission carts out there. I think I see more of them at GameStop than I see "normal" editions. I had heard these were demonstration/sample carts? I don't recall a Zero Mission GBA pack-in, though I could be wrong.
