The one thing I liked in Oblivion more than Morrowind was the quest compass thing and the ability to fast travel wherever I wanted as long as I had already been there. Keeps the game less frustrating and less repetitive. They also need to include the mark and recall spells this time.
I REALLY hope it's not only Skyrim in this game. Because look at the map, it's VERY small. It would be stupid of them to make a game smaller than it's prequel. I want to explore the tropical landscapes of Tamriel. Or go back to Morrowind, lol. And there's going to be at least two expansions and a bunch of DLCs.
Other things they should do for this new game: Have unique NPCs (every guard should look and sound different with different dialog), have EVERY type of armor and weapon possible and don't make them look like shit (Morrowind Glass armor looked badass, Oblivion glass armor looked like a dress), levitation spells, super high jumping, customizable houses and armor and weapons, beards, seasons (summer, winter, fall, spring), more skills.

I'll happily put up with a smaller world as long as it's more detailed. No more of that cloning that makes all the areas in the game look the same please.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

I think it is. It just seems that most higher level enemies have very good physical attacks and but the magic they cast can be dodged easily. I would normally keep dodging mages attacks and attack them when they ran out of mp.

While it made it more realistic I feel like that took a lot of the RPG elements out.
It was a nice experiment though.
I also hope it's not set JUST in skyrim! I loved oblivion, I don't have many complaints when it comes to that game. When I played it a few years back I enjoyed it so damn much, I put 60+ hours in less than a month I believe. I remember enjoying morrowind, but I never actually owned the game. I mostly watched a friend play it, the atmosphere was great, either way....I'm really excited for skyrim. I'm really hoping it doesn't disappoint.

It's not that small though. Highrock, Valenwood, Elsweyr and Summer Set Isle are smaller. Hammerfall and Black Marsh are about the same size. Only Cyrodiil and Morrowind are bigger.
One of the things I didn't like about Oblivion is too many abandoned forts. You would think they would at least keep some forts guarded.
Oblivion turned me off when I realized theft just wasnt worth it. Why things were autoflagged as stolen around the world just killed one of my favorite parts of the game.

didn' Ultima II already do that?
Ultima II allowed you to visit the planets seen in Oblivion? Years before the Elder scrolls series was even in the concept stage? Holy shit, that is amazing.

No, he meant visiting other planets in that game's solar system, which Ultima II did allow. Hell, in Ultima 0 you could buy a space ship and visit the moon. It's something Ultima did from day 1. Awesome games, those. I haven't played one in years.
