Your favorite Post-Dreamcast Sega titles?

Re: Your favorite Post-Dreamcast Sega titles?
I'm kinda surprised no one mentioned Yakuza.
I don't like strategy games very much, but the Total War series gets a lot of praise.
There's also (not all I loved, but at least liked): Super Monkey Ball, Bayonetta, Vakyria Chronicles, Hokuto no Ken, House of the Dead Overkill, OutRun 2006, Vanquish, MadWorld, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Virtua Fighter 5, Resonance of Fate, Bleach games...
When you list this many games, it's weird to think how much flak Sega gets for not being as good as before.

Dammit, and I thought I was helping Sega for a second. xDjfrost wrote:Soul Calibur is a Namco series.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Soul Calibur II and Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing. And Madworld.

Re: Your favorite Post-Dreamcast Sega titles?
Are we talking sega as a developer or sega as a publisher? Either way:
Sonic advance 1-3
Sonic Rush 1-2
Sonic Colours
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Sonic and Sega all star tennis and racing
House of the dead overkill
Infinite Space
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Jet Set Radio Future
Project Rub/Feel the magic & the rub rabbits
Lets Tap
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2
F Zero GX
Beach Spikers
I hear great things about Valkyria chronicles too, and MadWorld, Samba de Amigo, The Conduit and NiGHTs Wii arent meant to be too shabby at least.
How about Yakuza? Sonic 4? Outrun 2006? The Puyo Pop games? Bayonetta? Condemned? Sakura Wars? Sega Pinball? I cant say I know much about them, but the playstation shinobi and the modern virtua fighter games seem to appeal to some people too. Maybe some of you dont like them, but there splenty of people I've seen who love all these games.
Honestly, Im really not sure I'm comfortable with how sega is characterised as 'a shadow of its former self', they still bring out some good stuff. And I even actively tried to avoid their compilation releases and their ports, like rez, skies of arcadia, phantasy star online and shenmue 2. Perhaps they do bring out some dross (particularly in terms of sonic games), but TBH, I think sega has always done that. Some Mega Drive 'classics' like super thunder blade, kid chameleon and sonic spinball were of middling quality, some sonic games (particularly spin offs like sonic R and Sonic Shuffle, but also some of the actual games, like many of the game gear sonic games, and, imo, the sonic adventure games) were questionable just like some now. But they came out with an equally good amount of awesome stuff.
Perhaps sega arent quite the same as they used to be, but people accusing them of pumping out crap and not taking risks on new IPs are a bit crazy imo, especially with some of the games they're choosing to publish for other companies like platinum games. Sega are still great.
And I'm saying this as a Nintendo man :p

Has anyone played Madworld? I saw it for $8 on Amazon and it looked pretty neat.

I have. It is pretty awesome. Basically the most over-the-top violent game there is. The announcers are pretty funny too (Greg Proops and John DiMaggio).

Fzero AX/GX, Super Monkey Ball, House of the Dead Overkill, and the always fun Phantasy Star Onlines - 4 and DS specifically
Re: Your favorite Post-Dreamcast Sega titles?
Super Monkey ball
Billy hatcher was pretty good
Sega & Sonic all stars racing is awesome
Panzer Dragoon Orta is also awesome.
I also like Sonic Heroes, currently playing it
Just off the top of my head

Re: Your favorite Post-Dreamcast Sega titles?
The quality of SEGA has dropped dramatically so not many games have really excited me. Yakuza has easily been my favorite game post-Dreamcast and aside from that I also enjoyed SEGA All-Stars Racing and Sonic 4.
